My Thoughts 🧠:
I thought this was a well-executed sequel. Even though there is a large time-gap between the two films, this one does a great job of making each characters’ journey into who they are now in the current film make sense. I don’t believe there was a single character whose role and journey seemed implausible.

There were a plethora of huge names in the fashion industry and the Hollywood industry as to be expected. The fashion was over the top, and omg some of the outfits were so good.

No one in the film aged! Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Stanley Tucci, and Emily Blunt all look fabulous. Of course some of them have had some treatments and work done, but I still think that they all look so good.

In terms of the plot, I thought it was very good. It felt very similar to the first film, but it was more modernized and felt current. Andy’s lay-off and new job are similar to that of current times that people are facing. We also see more of Miranda and her more “human” and emotional side which I do enjoy. I loved seeing Nigel be able to have his moment.

I liked seeing Emily do her own thing. Her boyfriend Benji was something for sure. I also liked seeing Andy actually start to find a romantic partner who is actually interested in what she does.

The throwbacks to first film were great. We see in the beginning shots two shades of blue belts one being the cerulean blue of Andy’s sweater in film one. We see the cafeteria and Andy still having soup. Andy is still great friends with Lily and even gifts her another bag. We see galas with fancy necklaces.

We do see Miranda having to hang up her own coat which was great. Also her various little quips that kept having to be corrected definitely fit her character.

🚨No more spoilers here!🚨

Overall I enjoyed the movie, and I’d definitely give it another watch. It was nostalgic and a wonderfully well-done ode to the original.
